Course Overview

Welcome to Ace Your QA Interviews, a practical, tool-agnostic course about the part of your career that no testing course usually covers: getting the job.

You can be an excellent tester and still struggle to get hired. Finding a job is a separate skill from doing the job, and like any skill, it can be learned and practiced. That is what this course is for.

This course is written for:

1. Testers looking for their first QA role, who need to know what to put on a CV when the experience is thin
2. Experienced QAs changing jobs, who want to get better jobs and interview with confidence
3. Anyone stuck in the funnel, sending applications that get no replies, or reaching interviews that go nowhere

What this course is

This is a career course, not a testing course. There is no code to write and no repository to clone. Instead, you get real examples: my own CV, my own cover letter, the technical exercises companies actually give QAs, and the questions I have both been asked and asked others in technical interviews.

Everything here is drawn from real hiring processes, on both sides of the table.

How this course is organized 🗺️

The lessons follow the order a real job hunt happens in, grouped into three parts:

1. Your application materials: the CV, the cover letter, and your LinkedIn profile, so you get replies
2. The interview stages: technical tests, technical interviews, behavioural interviews, and interviews with management
3. Closing the deal: references and the salary and benefits negotiation

Then two bonus lessons: how to find remote jobs, and how to keep investing in your career once you are hired.

A note on honesty 🙏

Everything in this course assumes you are telling the truth. The techniques here are about presenting your real experience clearly, not about inventing it. Interviewers are good at spotting invented experience, and getting hired for a job you cannot do is worse than not getting hired at all.
